Return/exchange Case For Embroidered Fabric With Large-area Pattern Misalignment And Broken Threads
Customer **** (a buyer from a New York fashion brand) placed an order in March 2024 for 20,000 yards (approximately 250 rolls) of model *** 3D embroidery fabric, valued at USD 85,000 CIF New York Port. Upon receiving the goods, the customer inspected the rolls and found that approximately 80% of the rolls had pattern positioning deviation (offset 3-8mm), extensive skipped stitches/broken threads in the embroidery, and partial sequin shedding, which did not meet the mutually confirmed sealed sample standards. The customer provided detailed photos and a third-party inspection report, and requested a full batch return and replacement.
We immediately sent our quality inspection team to the customer's warehouse for sampling and re-inspection, confirming that the problem was caused by incorrect embroidery machine parameter settings and uneven tension during production. After negotiation, we agreed to a full refund and free re-production of 25,000 yards of the same specification fabric (including 10% allowance for damage), shipped by air directly to New York (freight borne by us), with delivery time compressed to 15 days. At the same time, we promise to add three intermediate inspection procedures for subsequent orders and regularly push production videos.
After receiving the replacement goods, the customer passed the second inspection, retained the original order cooperation, and placed an additional trial order of 5,000 yards for new fabrics. Both parties signed a new quality assurance agreement. Our side bore the air freight and inspection fees totaling USD 12,300. The customer did not request additional compensation, and the cooperative relationship remains stable.
