A regular German customer placed a repeat order for 20,000 sets of beach toy sets (40-foot high cube container). After the goods arrived at Hamburg port, the customer's random inspection found serious quality problems with the colored clay beach mold products: approximately 6,500 sets had outer cartons damaged by moisture and deformed, with the inner bags of colored clay cracked and dried; another 1,200 sets of plastic shovels broke during transportation due to insufficient wall thickness. The overall defect rate reached 38.5%. The customer requires a full return and compensation.

Our company urgently dispatched the quality and after-sales team to the overseas warehouse in Germany for on-site verification. After confirming the issues, we reached the following agreement with the customer: 1. The 6,500 sets of deformed color clay sets will be completely destroyed, with compensation at 120% of the contract price for the remanufactured value; 2. For the 1,200 broken shovels, we will immediately arrange air freight of reinforced versions (wall thickness increased by 0.8mm) and bear the destination port customs clearance fees; 3. The remaining 12,300 sets of qualified products will receive a 15% discount as compensation for the customer's operational handling; 4. All after-sales costs will be deducted from the customer's letter of credit balance, and we commit to using moisture-proof vacuum packaging and upgrading quality inspection standards for the next order.
