Case Of Batch Color Difference And Cracking Returns/exchanges For Bamboo Cutting Boards Exported To Europe
The customer (*** company) placed an order in September 2024 for 20,000 bamboo wooden cutting boards, to be shipped to the Port of Hamburg. During random inspection at the warehouse, the customer found approximately 3,200 boards with obvious color differences (inconsistent colors between batches), and about 600 boards with slight cracks on the edges. The customer reported that this issue directly affects their supermarket channel listing standards and demanded either a full return or reproduction, as well as compensation for shipping and warehousing costs.

The customer accepted the proposal and a final settlement was reached. Our company completed supplementary production and shipment within 30 days, and the reworked products passed the customer's spot inspection before being put on shelves normally. The customer retains intention for future cooperation and placed a new trial order of 5,000 bamboo-wood cheese boards. Overall losses were controlled within 18% of the order value, while long-term customer relationships were maintained through rapid response and flexible compensation.
